On the basis of common and self-interests,
the below parties hereby declare themselves bound by
THE ANTI-FAT TALK AGREEMENT
(AFTA)
Bukit Timah, August 2007
The representatives of the Canadian Narrative, the Hungarian Yankee, the Norwegian Longbow and the Welsh Zealot have collaborated on this document, formally drafted by the Hungarian counterpart.
MINDFUL of the existence of mutual interests and common problems among the above-mentioned associates regarding any frivolous mentions of the F-word, and convinced of the need to strengthen the existing bonds of the alliance;
DESIRING to establish a frim foundation for common action to promote amity and contribute to the peace of mind of all parties involved;
CONCIOUS that in an increasingly interdependent society, the cherished ideals of appearance and well being are best attained by the avoidance of the topic of fat;
AFFIRMING that all external infringements of this treaty is only transient and belongs to the ramblings of the unenlightened;
WE HERBY DECLARE,
FIRST, the establishment of an alliance bound by the AFTA by the above named participants,
SECOND, that the aims and purposes of the Agreement will be:
1) To promote peace and harmony through abiding respect for the waistline or any other lines of the parties and tolerance toward any peculairities in diet;
2) To provide active collaboration on matters of common interest in the psychological and emotional fields
3) To promote the fantastic studies
THIRD, that to carry out such aims, the following machinery will be established:
(a) Fortnightly Meeting of the representatives known as the AFTA biMonthly Meeting (AMM for short)
(b) The AFTA Random Forum in the form of this blog (ARF for short)
(c) The creation of an AFTA identity in the longterm of the AFTA Way
(d) and any political, economic and socio-economic cooperation possible
DONE in Bukit Timah and drafted at Bedok on the eleventh day of April in the Year two thousand and eight.
